Ross Allen

Ross Allen has been DJ since he was 15 –  thats a long time ago now !! It has taken him all over the world in his own right and with bands such as Sade, Massive Attack , Portishead, Zero 7 and the Arctic Monkeys. He has had residencies at most big clubs in his home city of London and has had one of the countries top alternative club radio shows for the last 30 years on BBC London, 6Music, Radio One, Ministry of Sound,  Mi Soul and currently weekly shows on both NTS and Soho Radio – winning many awards for it along the way. 

He has also had a long career at the cutting edge of the music business with his record labels (Filter/Island Blue/Casual/Meltdown and currently Foundation Music). As an A&R  (he has signed and made records with Chaka Khan Goldie, Sugarbabes, Talvin Singh, Lady Sovereign, Amy Winehouse, Tricky, The Heavy, Above & Beyond, The Orb, Shadowchild, DJ Shadow, Mark Pritchard, Spacek, Jhelisa, The Kills,  Global Communications, Peshay, dBrdige, Coldcut, The Underwolves, Arthur Baker and Idris Elba) and as a manager (London Grammar, Lady Blackbird, KDA, Sunship, Zach Witness, Jeb Loy Nichols, Tawiah, Blue May, Afrikan Boy)

He is currently working at London Records as an A&R with Goldie, Shadowchild, The Happy Mondays and others. 

His weekly show on Soho Radio The Meltdown has featured a host of legendary and underground artists from Don Letts, Mike Pickering, Wally Badarou, James Lavelle, DJ Milo (The Wild Bunch), Allan McGee, Robert Elms to a slew of bran d new emerging artists. 

He is Djing less regularly in clubs but still playing Glastonbury, Red Rooster and We Out Here Festivals and various one off gigs, but spending more time running his label and publishing company Foundation Music and making records with great artists like the ones listed above as an A&R for London /Because Records and other labels.
