BobaFatt’s fortnightly Friday session returns once again to kick off your weekend.
New music includes Slick Rick, Little Simz, Madlib, Wildchild, Clipse, GoldLink, Tom Rowlands (Chemical Brothers), Rufige Kru & Goldie, Omar & Jeru The Damaja, Leon Thomas & Big Sean, Illa J & Ash Walker, Tall Black Guy & Jill Scott and Joe Armon-Jones & Yazmin Lacey.
Plus some new First Word Records bits from Above The Clouds, Amanda Whiting & the sophomore album from Georgie Sweet, as well as bruk from masterplan on CoOp Presents with Liam Shortall (corto.alto), and one from Sticky Dubs from the recent Eglo Records compilation.
Bobby also pays tribute to the late greats Sly Stone, Brian Wilson, and Eddie Lewis from Aly-Us, and there’s a couple classics & curveballs along the way including The Commodores, Idles, Massive Attack & Yasiin Bey (following their recent Victoria Park show), one from Common’s album ‘Be’ 20 years on, and a bit of vintage boogie from Caron Wheeler from a new UK soul comp on Freestyle Records.
