In this special episode of The OTL Show, we hear two excerpts from a major, 83m work by Out To Lunch, composed for a reading of Theory of Colours by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Pete Robson’s trumpet and piano were recorded at Resonance Studio on 8th October; Peter Baxter’s drums on Farringdon Road at the same date; Out To Lunch’s piano was recorded on 27th February (“Offering #4”), 27th March (“Offering #19”) and 6th April (“Offering #22”); his guitar on 23rd February, 23rd March and 21st April; his Korg ribbon synth on 20th February and 22nd July. Halftime single was “Blue Light Boogie”, both sides of Louis Jordan’s Decca 78rpm release from 1950.
