Taking as springboard Frank Zappa’s “Zomby Woof” – tonic for a threatening post-viral depression – Ben Watson’s deep dive into the psychoanalytic components of “Evil” includes Duke Ellington, Howlin’ Wolf, Charles Mingus and Ana-Maria Avram, as well as “Healing Virtue of Bells”, a xenochronic composition based on a recent synth improvisation by Ian Dogstar, Aldershot’s finest. There’s also a piece of Burundi Word Jazz by AMM All-Stars called “If I Could Write a Book Like Dark Molasse”.
